If these sound familiar, as speaker or listener, then Peaceful Conversations is sure to help. Through original research, tempered with entertaining anecdotes and media references, the author discloses those engrained psychological traps that undermine our perceptions, causing stereotyping, blaming and miscommunication. Roadblocks to communication across cultures are explored and lifted, such as “Get to the point” vs. “Don’t be so abrupt.” The practical solutions that follow each principle are proven to ease the way to peaceful communication from the bedroom to the boardroom, both here and abroad. Readers will come away with listening and conversational skills that can prevent squabbles at the table and heal hurt feelings at work and across cultures.
